¶ B01
Introduction
Purpose of the appendix. This appendix reproduces the enacted text of the statutes the treatise cites most often. They are Article 12 of the Uniform Commercial Code with the related provisions of Articles 1 and 9, as enacted in Delaware; the Revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act, as enacted in Florida; and two Wyoming statutes, the Decentralized Autonomous Organization Supplement and the chapter that classifies digital assets as property and governs their custody by banks. Each text is taken from the official online publication of the enacting state.
Why enacted texts are used. The uniform acts and their official comments are published by the Uniform Law Commission and the American Law Institute. The appendix reproduces public law only: the statutes as one state enacted them, with that state's section numbers. The editorial note to each act states how the state numbering corresponds to the uniform numbering used in the chapters. The official comments are not reproduced. A reader advising under the law of another state should read that state's enactment, since non-uniform variations are common. See ch. 6 ¶ 680 (Article 12) and ch. 13 ¶ 1310 (the fiduciary access act).
Form of the texts. The texts are reproduced word for word, including the section catchlines and the subsection headings that appear in the official publications. Session-law history notes are omitted. Repeals that the official text records in the body of a section are retained. Nothing has been corrected or modernized. In Wyo. Stat. § 34-29-104 the subsection letters pass from (h) to (j) and from (k) to (m), as they do in the official compilation.
Currency. The Delaware text is as published on the Delaware Code Online when retrieved on November 5, 2026. The Florida text is chapter 740 of the 2026 Florida Statutes, retrieved from the Florida Legislature's Online Sunshine site on the same date. The Wyoming texts are from the compiled title files published by the Wyoming Legislature, dated May 8, 2026, and retrieved on November 5, 2026. Each of these statutes may be amended after that date. Before relying on a text, confirm it against the current official publication.
Contents of the appendix. Table B-1 lists the texts reproduced and the chapters that discuss them.
