Services / Lighthouse E-Sign

Signed, sealed,
and gone.

Lighthouse E-Sign is the firm’s own electronic signature service, built and operated by Lighthouse and offered only to its clients. It keeps no archive of signed documents, and it records the fact of every execution on the Solana public blockchain, so that any document it seals can be proven authentic, by anyone, long after the firm’s copy is gone.

How a document is sealed

Four steps. One permanent record.

Executed documentSHA-256 FINGERPRINT9f2c71ab04e8 … a27c58e4SOLANA PUBLIC RECORDPermanent · Public · No personal data
  1. 01 · Signed

Each signer confirms their identity with an emailed code and applies their signature.

  2. 02 · Fingerprinted

E-Sign computes a SHA-256 fingerprint from every byte of the executed document.

  3. 03 · Recorded

The fingerprint is written to the Solana public blockchain. No names, no personal data.

  4. 04 · Erased

Once the document is filed with the firm, E-Sign erases its copy. The public record remains.

The archive is the risk.

Conventional e-signature services keep a copy of every document their customers sign. Trust deeds, operating agreements, powers of attorney, and account mandates accumulate on the provider’s servers, year after year, alongside the names and email addresses of everyone who signed them. Encryption and access controls reduce the danger, but they do not remove it: an archive that exists can be breached, subpoenaed, or misused. For the documents our clients sign, the safest copy on a third-party server is the copy that is not there.

Signed, sealed, and gone.

While a document is out for signature, E-Sign holds it encrypted — the file, every signature image, and the audit trail. When the last signature is applied, the executed copy is delivered and filed to the client’s record with the firm. E-Sign then permanently erases its copy of the document, the signatures, and the names and email addresses of the signers. A document that is never collected is erased automatically within thirty days. What E-Sign retains is a fingerprint, the date of execution, and the location of its public record — nothing from which the document, or the people who signed it, could be reconstructed.

A public record of execution.

At execution, E-Sign computes a SHA-256 fingerprint of the entire executed document and records it on the Solana public blockchain, together with the document’s reference number. The record contains no names and no personal information. It is written by a signing key held in a hardware security module, which cannot be copied out by anyone — including the firm’s own staff. Once written, the record cannot be altered or withdrawn, and it does not depend on the firm, or on E-Sign, continuing to exist.

Verification anyone can perform.

Every executed document carries a Certificate of Execution with its reference number and a code linking to the public verification page. Anyone holding the document — a bank, a registrar, opposing counsel, a court — can open that page and select the file. The fingerprint is computed in their own browser; the document itself is never uploaded. If it matches the public record, the document is exactly the one that was executed. If a single page has been replaced, or a single word altered, it will not match, and the verification fails.

How signers authenticate.

Each signer receives an invitation from the Lighthouse officer handling the matter, sent from that officer’s own firm address, and confirms their identity with a one-time code sent to their email before the document opens. Signers adopt a signature once — typed, drawn, or uploaded — and apply it where the document requires. Every step is written to a hash-chained audit trail, in which each event is bound to the one before it, so that no entry can be removed or rewritten without breaking the chain.

Exclusive to the firm’s clients.

E-Sign is not offered to the public and is not a separate product for sale. It is part of how the firm executes the documents it prepares and administers — establishment deeds, operating agreements, resolutions, and account documentation — and it is available to clients of the firm, and to the counterparties who sign with them, at no additional charge.
